The Ash is a medium size shelter that sits on the outside of the circle drive west of the Ballroom. As you enter the park and start the circle drive, it is the third shelter on the right. It sits back in the woods and is heavily shaded. The Ash shelter was built in 1988 with the proceeds from the 1986 Bascom Sesquicentennial. As with all the shelters it is named for a tree that is found in the park. The shelter is close to the rest rooms and one of the two horseshoes areas in the park. The Ash shelter has recycled plastic picnic tables.
